Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs)
Southwind Maritime Centre and Evansville Regional Airport are designated as FTZ 177 and 177-4.

In these zones, overseas businesses may warehouse products without paying US duties or tariffs until they are removed. Products are treated as if they were still in the country of origin.

Companies can also save money by bringing products into the zones, assembling them into new products and then exporting them without paying tariffs. Products can be brought into the zone, assembled into new products that pay a lower tariff and then imported.
