Ivy Tech faculty expanding
By JOHN MARTIN Courier & Press staff writer, August 4, 2005
Ivy Tech's budget for the new school year will increase only slightly, but it will allow for the addition of six faculty members at the growing First Avenue campus.
The community college's regional board of trustees on Wednesday voted to endorse its state allocation of $15.6 million for the new academic year.
Combined with funds which carried forward from the previous year, the college anticipates a budget of $17.8 million, up from $17.1 million in the 2004-05 academic calendar.
Also Wednesday, the regional board of trustees was introduced to Brian West, the new chairman of Ivy Tech's Technical Division.
West has been an engineering faculty member at the University of Southern Indiana for eight years. He previously worked for 12 years at Crane warfare center. West has master's and undergraduate degrees from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. |
